Name: Maxwell Peters
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Hometown: Boston, Mass.
Job Applied for: CSI
Physical Description:
Long brown hair, dark eyes, and a rough, unshaven face may make it hard to believe that Max got the Director position on skill alone, but he wasn't always been as rugged as he is now. Max use to be a clean cut, pleated pants, shaven face type of man as he worked his way up the totem pole. Finally at the top, he allowed himself to return to the equalibrium of looking however he wants as much as he can.
Of course, that can't follow through his entire appearance. His normal outfit at work is a suit. Out of place is an understatement for how he looks, but, to his dissappointment, it comes with the territory. Given the choice, he'd be sporting jeans and a witty t-shirt 24/7, like he does on the weekends, as he prefers a laid back wardrobe.
Personality: Max is the kind of guy who puts up one serious, sturdy wall to protect himself. He uses is intelligence and success to barricade himself away from people. Because of this, most people view him as a cold, unfeeling man, although that really couldn't be farther from the truth. Deep down he cares for people more than he'd ever admit. Perhaps thats why he puts up such a strong facade.
With his co-workers, Max keeps up a very professional, curtious manner, although sometimes the way he does his job can come of uber-bossy or extremely pushy. He expects a lot of other people because he always puts in 120%, although sometimes he doesn't know when its time to cut people a little slack. His personal relationships are few and far between because it takes a significant amount of effort to break through his wall and most people get sick of his facade before they can get close to him.
Bio: Max is the oldest of two siblings. His parents were originally from Georgia so, unlike the other families in the neighborhood, they didn't understand the insane pressure placed on the children. They simply asked that he do his best at everything and never give up. His younger sister was best friends with Elizabeth Buchanan in high school. However, he only knew her for a year before dropping off the planet to study Criminal Justice at University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL.
Apparently his best was good enough to get him a full ride at UCF, the top criminal justice school in the US. He worked hard for four years, earning a Bachelor of Science with top honors before moving immediately back to Boston to on a job offer with the criminalistics department where he has been working for the past nine years. About a year ago, after nearly single-handedly finding the mayor's kidnapped niece, he was promoted to Assistant Director just in time for the Director's retirement. Every now and again, Max regrets accepting the promotion because it took him out of the field and stuck him behind a desk.

Riary stifled a sigh as Melinda finally fell asleep. Mrs. Quincy was out with her friends on one of their Spa dates, leaving Riary home alone with young Melinda yet again. Although when she slept might be sporadic, how long she slept was like clockwork. Riary knew, after caring for the little girl as long as she had, that, as long as her father wasn't home, Melinda would sleep exactly one hour, right down to the minute. She took her job and her duties very seriously, but that one hour of sleep every so often was Riary's only break.
Walking on her toes so as not to wake Melinda, Riary rushed back to her room and slipped into her swim suit. She could hardly believe that it had taken her this long to take to the water. Then again there hadn't been many options as far as swimming on Duhrma. As she ran down to the dock and slipped into the water, Riary watched her internal clock carefully. She would swim out and swim back just in time to be there when Melinda woke, like she did at least once a day.
The water washed away the daily worries that Riary built up around her. Worries about her family, her job... Worries about Melinda, growing up with two absent parents. The water cleared them all away, luckily for her. On the other hand, perhaps its soothing qualities weren't quite so... perfect. After all, who can hear anyone or anything approaching when all they're listening to is the sound of the water?
