Name: Daniel "Dan" Royce
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Hometown: Superior, WI
Job Applied for: CSI
Physical Description:
Daniel definitely looks more the part of the brooding musician. He's got bright blue eyes that are often very serious though never seem to get cold. His dark brown hair always seems to have a mind of it's own, though it tends to look better if he keeps it longer. He stands at 5' 9", and no matter what he looks like you don't want to underestimate him.
Daniel likes how he looks in buttoned shirts, though by no means does this only mean dress shirts. He is capable of dressing casual, he just prefers polos or a buttoned shirt even then. He somehow manages to look relaxed and at ease whatever he's wearing, be it a polo and jeans or a full on men's suit.
Personality:
For Daniel there is a fine line between being overly trusting and guarding your heart with a lock and key. He's single and not entirely searching, but only because he apparently attracts the wrong women. Anyone he's dated has been superficial, caring too much about them self or not getting the difference between love and lust. A woman needed more than money and a pretty face to draw him in. That and maybe he's just a traditionalist, but he still believes in the concept of abstinence from sex until marriage.
Outside of personal relationships Daniel works hard to prove that his usually serious demeanor does not mean someone should be afraid to approach him. He's a nice guy with a sense of humor, and he's not above doing his part out in "the trenches." He can and will do any task needed to keep his team running smoothly, mostly because he didn't get into Criminal Justice so he could sit on his rear behind a desk in his office. He wants to help make a difference, and he won't do that without being willing to get a little dirty.
Bio:
Daniel was born and raised a small town boy. Superior certainly wasn't one of those towns that you could drive through and miss seeing if you blinked at the wrong time, but it wasn't anything amazing in Daniel's eyes either. Every one of his friends talked of getting out of there some day. Daniel was sure that he would be leaving too. In the end he did, but not in the way he thought. He landed in Hibbing, Minnesota, a town even smaller than where he'd come from.
Daniel had always thought music was his calling, but was in college that he found his true passion. A fellow classmate was killed by her abusive boyfriend, and Daniel found himself glaringly caught off guard by the reality and brutality of the world, which he now felt his small town childhood had sheltered him from. The following term he transfered to the Law Enforcement program. After getting his A.A.S. from HCC he moved to UCF to get a higher degree in Criminal Justice.
He completed his degree there was moved to work an intern position in the CSI lab in L.A. for a couple years before recently being offered a position in Boston as the Swing Shift Supervisor. He personally hopes that Boston will be a place where he can put up his feet for a bit, because he's moved around enough during the past few years and just wants to settle down for a while.
RP Sample:
How long had it been since they'd last drank? Caius had no real recollection. Mere days seemed to pass as only a blur in the memory of the centuries old vampire. The only things that ever stuck out were the days that were somehow not ordinary. Moments like Aro killing Didyme and the day the Volturi, Aro particularly, had let Bella Swan and Edward Cullen leave Italy, particularly with Bella as a human who knew about vampires, those were what stood out in Caius's mind anymore. Anything else just faded into the background with centuries upon centuries of the same.
He wasn't trying to listen in on Renata, but happened to be passing by as she spoke. He stopped and entered the room she was in. "Bored?" he asked in a tone that clearly was trying to sound innocent. The problem was, Caius wasn't innocent. That was like an oxymoron. He more than knew the answer and knew she'd been talking to herself. However, why act like he had? Renata was Aro's precious guard, and while he couldn't use what he knew to influence Aro he certainly had times where he wished he could get his way. Aro had the power though, and Caius more than suspected that anyone who got in the way of that would meet the fate Aro's sister had.
